соц. экономическая антропология (отрасль антропологии, изучающая экономическую организацию примитивных обществ; началась с работ В. Малиновского, который пытался подчеркнуть неэгоистический характер обменов и отношений в примитивных обществах и настаивал на неприменимости экономической теории в этих ситуациях; за этим последовала мода на поиски таких обменов и отказ от экономической теории; усилиями Р. Ферта, М. Герсковица, Д. Гудфеллоу было доказано обратное, что привело к появлению новой экономической антропологии; затем появились работы К. Поланьи, который предложил формалистско-субстантивистскую модель понимания общества и на ее основе отказал экономической теории в применимости к уникальным примитивным обществам; эта позиция была поддержана Дж. Дальтоном, но вызвала критику "формалистов" в лице Э. Леклера, Р. Берлинга, Г. Шнейдера и др.)
